see the light
1
in the beginning,
there was light.
and light said:
let there be god.
and god meant: everything
touched by light.
2
and light so loved,
light bled.
bled so much,
god bathed.
bathed so much,
light spilled.
spilled so much,
so much was lost.
3
so god thought up
a way.
he made the Earth round
in infinite space.
4
light comes and goes,
everyday,
held in place
by loving grace.
5
light reaches, touches, effects,
then fades.
6
but everyone is wrong about everything.
praying to god for light, not light for god.
7
people say that
god has overstretched himself,
trying to reach us.
whilst sunset splits open,
rises over,
bleeds
8
stories, dreams,
the face of god.
our eyes see
only sky.
