When it comes to technology, I’m no savvy geek
I’d choose a book over a kindle any day of the week,
So imagine, my phone decides it won’t work anymore,
I have no choice, but to visit the Apple Store.
I’m greeted by Adam ‘How can Apple help you today?’
With a jaunty swag, he says ‘Come this way…’
He guides me to ‘The Genius Bar,’
Brother please,
Adam’s no more a genius than I am Eve,
He chats about Settings and Siri and Apps,
And Data and Clouds and Sharing Contacts,
I try to listen so I won’t forget,
But I just think about lunch and the tuna melt in Pret.
Adam’s lost me. He can see it in the eyes.
‘Perhaps you’d like to give our new AirPods a try?’
Fifteen minutes later and I’m leaving the store
With quite a lot more than I bargained for;
I now own AirPods, have I just been had?
What happened to my disdain for the Apple swag?
It felt so wrong yet it felt so right.
Shiney bright Apple and my first bite.
