Magic Will Snowball

Once I get out of bed
magic will snowball
at breakneck pace
My 0-60
a thing of beauty

I step out of my body
Transfixed
Step back in
Jump out of my head
into my body
An optimal state
Hard for me to access
But
I’m stubborn
Call me mule
Goat
Or mighty ox
I pull my cart
without complaint
Conserve energy
Strategic
Not every ground is a battle ground
War time I thrive
Peace time, not so much
It’ll change
But for now…
Discerning between the two helps

Love
Romantic
Platonic
Tectonic plates
shift
Constant flux
United in grief
We cry together
Laugh separately

Pause
Adjust

We cry separately
Laugh together
Co-dependency
Consigned to the waste bin
Screwed up in a ball
3 point jump shot
Perfectly poised
Smiling
Laughing with my whole body
If I knew then what I now know…
Stop it!
Be present
Hold head high
Hazel green eyes
locked forward
Can’t stop won’t stop
But…
Finally…
I have room for passengers
Let’s all share
in a harvest for the world
