Present

Good love is not always easy.

It is driving rain and wind
A small vessel in stormy seas
Drowning

Good love is not always hard.

It is melting chocolate in the sun
A slow, languorous heat
Rising

Good love is not always certain.

It is a crossroads at twilight
Shadows and half-truths.
Deciding

Good love is not always wise.

It is a half century of
Seasons, reason and unreason
Learning

Good love is not always warm.

It is a bitter blizzard
And it is brittle ice
Cracking

Good love is not always solemn.

It is ridiculous laughter
Sublime stupidity
Connecting

Good love is always mine.

It is there, every moment
Painfully present
Being.
