Worrisome
The lone magpie isn’t worrisome
Sitting on an eave,
Beak dipping between wing feathers
Intent on preening
Not knowing that here, sat alone
People passing take him as a symbol for sorrow.
However, the little birds
Gathered in the frosty trees
Sat in their cliques
Chirruping,(which is giggling for birds).
Tattling as if calling names after the lonely magpie.
They are worrisome.
