Blue
Dodge Ram

Blue Dodge Ram

an ‘85

pickup truck

bought with my own

hard earned money.

As rusty as an old nail,

it runs with a roar

and a cloud of blue smoke.

Intended to pull my horse trailer

to local parks

for trail rides.

For summer use only.

With 160,000 miles

it’s earned this light workload.

Green Geo Metro

a ‘93

subcompact car

bought with my own

loan.

As green as an emerald,

it ran at 40 miles per gallon.

Intended for daily long distance driving

to and from work

on errands.

For cost effective travel.

With 60,000 miles

the engine blew.

Blue Dodge Ram

an ‘85

pickup truck.

As rusty as an old nail

with 160,000 miles,

it perseveres

like an aged warrior.

Thirteen miles per gallon

to and from work

on errands

it roars faithfully

in a cloud of blue smoke.
