Spinning in Zero

He’s so real
he could’ve been made
by man
when we meet
his cheek
brushes against mine
it’s buttery fine
like quality leather
i lodge pills
into my gums
to give a
soluble smile
he swallows it down
no bother
no bother
i try to speak
but the words take off
and hit the roof of heaven
he says something about thunder
and like magic
the rain starts to fall
can you predict the weather
he laughed
nodded at my hood
he wasn’t there when the crows
snatched my hair
for their nests
we walked on under that weeping
out feet dipping
in and out of melted moons
sheet lightning X-rayed us
from overhead
my carrier bag lungs
my clenched fist stomach
he was full
of ghosted bones
and i thought he was real
