Jake
The Jack Russell
with a yellow pencil trapped in his jaw
runs between our argument – we stop
our mouths, you and I, caught by the sight of him
as he paws, bows and scribbles on the lino
To you both
I just can't do this anymore
Regards,
Jake
and exits the cat flap
flap-flap flap.
