River Creature
I grew from a trickle
down from the sky,
Slowly but surely,
Carved out a bed
Using sand, pebbles,
Mud and rocks
Anything I could
Grab hold of
With my big watery hands,
I took giant steps,
Similar to running
It felt like a race,
I acquired tree trucks
And branches,
Whatever could float?
With my big watery feet,
Then a sudden surge
Out of my mouth
I’m in the deep-sea
With other river creatures,
This grew from a trickle
Coming down from the sky
