I Met You Singing Karaoke

I met you singing karaoke
that night you sang one hell of a song.
since then we've been spitting
many of these flyaway goodbyes.
gravity somehow doesn't abide
its different like sand and ice.

you said you were touched
I still don't know what you mean,
you still don't listen,
I talk of your beautiful voice,
try reminding you I can still love.

but green flames of young rage
jump off its feet
doing perfect somersaults in air,
start heating my skin.
and dancing on it.

you run
I can-
stop-
you
but you, I won't let me,
thank God,
I won't tie you down I swear
you say, “thank God,” beneath your delicate breath.
I'll always love the way you speak.
