fire deep in the throat of the night
Tippi Hedron comes back as a tree
such reaching elegance; uncreased
under a stress of raven, stoic,
such beauty underneath chirp-chatter,
radiant in the feather-white moon
leaves still immaculately styled
as the flocks drive on into the town
walking,
dusk, fire dwindling, the mountains
clutched to the breast-line of the sky
