Litter Bug at Hayle

Across much astonishing sand
I chased as it flew
over sun-dazzled breeze.

It was a tinkerbell thing,
sparkle-dancing deliberate lines,
faster, faster;

a silver-plated swallow
far from the outlying tide,
tuning its own event horizon.

Tearing along in sensible brogues,
twice I caught up, almost
got a foot down on it.

Dressed like a clown
in long padded coat
with a pixy hat,

stamp, stamp-stamp,
nearly caught me a tinny foil dragonfly
out of the dunes.
