Lying on a vinyl chair,
I listen to music.
The melody depicts a forest
in this sanitized room.
While I’m opening my mouth,
a squirrel is crunching on an acorn,
leaves falling into a puddle.
When the anaesthetic starts taking effect,
a woodpecker perches on my lips
and taps at my tooth.
