To Map a Man

The transparent mapping of a man
requires a thin slice of him on coated
film along with a translucent strip

of his energy activity with all of its
sides,  all aspects of the man included.

Put his thin coat, almost transparent,
across the cell membranes that map all
of his sides, his aspects, his separate origins.

Place a thin coat over his alive energy,
surround his activity on all sides.  On all
of his aspects put a pliable wall of parchment.

His energy and sensitive cellulose will thins
as his organ lightens, his touch separating
the  transparent mapping of the man from the man.

* Ann Privateer says “I grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, where every spring I experimented walking on icy pond water, then relocated to LA, California for college, married, and moved north to raise a family. Now I am retired,  single, and spend part of the year in Paris, France, conversing with my French grand-daughter in English. My poems have appeared in Manzanita, Poetry Now, Tapestries, Tiger Eyes, Rattlesnake Review and Medusa’s Kitchen to name a few.”
