Sea Palling – three haiku
White tern arrows at
waters of the wind-ripped bay –
glides before plunging
Tall poles stand rusted
sentry over strips of green,
purple, turquoise sea
Swallows weave across
cloud-nets of gauze, thread through the
insect-heavy skies
* Jac Cattaneo is drawn to the shore. Sea Palling is a beach on the edge of Norfolk.
Beautiful, atmospheric haiku. The photo matches perfectly. Mandy Pannett
Enjoyed the tern. I have seen this happen and it is a sudden, graceful and very fast movement. How can a visual event which lasts a fraction of a second register as exquisitely beautiful? How can it be described?
By using few well timed words carefully it seems.
Swallows too. Taunting us with images of summer skies in these frozen times.
Rusty poles is for the colourists which being red/green blind is not really my forte`. Enjoy! the rest of you!
