\ncourse, cream lilies, river stones
\nground and polished into lucky orbs
\ncarried in her pockets that she would
\nfinger like rosary beads and send up
\nsmoky prayers for answers regarding
\nlove.<\/p>\n
\nbass call of a bullfrog throbbed with
\nlove, the soft wings of a flying owl
\nstitching meaning in air, the coyote’s
\ncontralto timbre, rain percussions on
\nhungry leaves, and the wind, the wind
\nalways singing.<\/p>\n
\nday and night, old message first
\nrelegated to caves, carried by a hungry
\nsun, nurtured by gravity bound moon, she
\nsees these things through the eyes of a
\nwoman always walking where the light
\nstreams through her quicksilver fingers, she
\npossessed of many tongues uttering like an
\noracle the encoded message passed from
\nmother to daughter, giggling school girls, and
\nI can only try, in my feeble way, to tell her
\nabout the night drama sitting beside
\nher bedside.<\/p>\n
\nI know, she says, I know, and so
\nwill you.<\/p>\n
