Her second Cinnamon Press collection is\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cinnamonpress.com\/rise\/\"><strong>\u00a0<em>Rise<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0 ( 2013.) Gill runs many poetry events in Chester where she lives.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Christmas Eve<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>They had always dressed the tree together\u2014<br \/>\nsurrounded by gold-sprayed pine cones<br \/>\nand evergreen wreaths.<\/p>\n<p>Each year, a new ornament, marking<br \/>\na shared city break or afternoon stroll<br \/>\naround a craft fair.<\/p>\n<p>Tonight, she uncurls her fist, sloughs off<br \/>\nher ring, considers the imprint<br \/>\nthat remains.<\/p>\n<p>She swings the ring a moment from her finger-tip,<br \/>\nslides it over a drooping branch.<\/p>\n<p>The fairy, impaled on the tree&#8217;s top stem,<br \/>\nstares paint-eyed across the room.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jinny Fisher<\/strong> was a classical violinist, and is now a psychoanalytic psychotherapist.
