\nThe chemicals put paid to that \u2013
\nstaunched the flow, tracking
\ndown those cells, their waving
\nfeelers tearing out her hair,
\ntheir bird-claw trail flattening
\nher veins. She\u2019s mummified \u2013

\nhead, shoulders, hips, thighs
\nbut underneath all\u2019s changed.
\nShe limpets on, though, wound
\ncrusted over, iron-oxide old.<\/p>\n
