\nGetting caught between the rhythm and home.
\nBut you see I’m only telling you this because I used to think I understood a lot and I just didn’t
\nI was caught\u00a0 between time and a metronome.
\nso there’s you and there’s me
\nI have lonely nights you wouldn’t believe
\nand you fall into the comfort of sadness
\nBut I was you.
\nI learned that the thing about sadness is it’s only comfortable for so long.
\nIt gets old but by the time it is,
\nyou’re too old to change a damn thing.
\nSo pick yourself up find happiness in her smile.
\nfind pleasure in warm coffee
\nand laughter in windy days.
\nMarry her and start a family. Teach your kids it’s never too late and then remember that on bad days.
\nteach them that even the worst problems can be solved with a hug from their mother.
\nand teach them that music will help them find peace.
\nTeach them the world is ugly but that it’s also gorgeous
\nand it’s only a matter of perspective.
\nLike everything else.
\nBut, my god, if you can teach them nothing else
\nTeach them to love foolishly
\nTeach them to have a mind that is more open than the Sea
\nTeach them that there is no sin greater than ignorance
\nTeach them to be hungry for knowledge
\nTeach them an instrument or two
\nAnd please please
\nTeach them to be their own source of happiness.<\/p>\n
