{"id":93,"date":"2012-03-03T20:16:00","date_gmt":"2012-03-03T20:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ink.verticalplus.co.uk\/archive\/?p=93"},"modified":"2020-12-09T16:53:28","modified_gmt":"2020-12-09T16:53:28","slug":"andy-n","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inksweatandtears.co.uk\/archive\/andy-n\/","title":{"rendered":"Andy N"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>From a Midnight train<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From a midnight train<br \/>\nI see people trudging home<br \/>\nin the dizzying rain<br \/>\nunderneath Morrisons<br \/>\nwhich offers shelter<br \/>\nlike trees in a roundhouse.<\/p>\n<p>From a midnight train<br \/>\nI see the lights go out<br \/>\nin the rain producing<br \/>\na light smog in the distance<br \/>\nthat dances on the diamonds<br \/>\nof a dusky town centre.<\/p>\n<p>I see the clouds<br \/>\ncut in half by the wind<br \/>\nover Trinity Street bridge<br \/>\nthat leads to the centre<br \/>\ncovered in stains<br \/>\nof spilled Pepsi<br \/>\nand half eaten pizza.<\/p>\n<p>I see the town hall statues<br \/>\nstanding to attention<br \/>\nforgotten in the darkness<br \/>\nas couples walk home<br \/>\nacross the acoustics of the rain<br \/>\nwhich rattle on the pavement,<\/p>\n<p>Like stray thoughts<br \/>\ntrying to define a movement,<br \/>\nor a silence that goes beyond<br \/>\nany kind of language<br \/>\noffering hope for a requiem<br \/>\nis long lost in<br \/>\nthe onslaught of the night.<\/p>\n<p><strong>*<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/andyncreativecv.blogspot.com\/\"><strong>Andy N<\/strong><\/a> is a 39 year old writer, writer, performer and sometimes experimental musician from the Manchester area of England.He has published one book of poetry through N Press \u2018Return to Kemptown\u2019 in 2010 and his second book, a split book with Jeff Dawson (aka Jeffarama) \u2018A Means to an End\u2019 has also just been printed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From a Midnight train From a midnight train I see people trudging home in the dizzying rain underneath Morrisons which offers shelter like trees in a roundhouse.
