Kinga has asked that her prize be donated to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ageuk.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Age UK<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Not Because It&#8217;s Chic<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here I have a place<br \/>\nwhere I can be sad.<br \/>\nI adore it. I adore it.<\/p>\n<p>I exist only in roles.<br \/>\nI want colors! Colors!<br \/>\nJust as above me the sky is always blue.<\/p>\n<p>Not because it\u2019s chic. Not because of that.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Voters\u2019 comments included:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>simple and extraordinary at the same time <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I like the simple words, the conciseness and the message of the poem. The usual reason: felt, experienced by everybody, written by one of us in a way that makes us relieved &#8211; some others feel like us as well&#8230; <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>She is one of my favorite Hungarian contemporary poets. She is lovely and so expressive. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Good, succinct poem.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It was, as always, a closely run thing and so this time we&#8217;ve included some voters&#8217; comments on the other five contenders.<\/p>\n<p>David Calcutt, Extracts from <em>The Old Man in the House of Bone<\/em>:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0\u00a0 Beautiful. Interesting. Sustained.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0\u00a0 mysterious, dreamlike, as if the old man&#8217;s mind is wandering. It is well constructed and intriguing.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Susan Castillo Street, <em>Voices<\/em>:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0\u00a0 haunting lyrical imagery, reaches the heart,tender and powerful.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0\u00a0 Much treasure in a small compass!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sally Evans, Review of <em>Abiding Chemistry<\/em> by Susan Castillo Street:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0\u00a0 &#8230;a superb and insightful review.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ilse Pedler, <em>Breathing<\/em>:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0\u00a0 A compulsive read and very thought provoking. A poem I wanted to read again and again. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0\u00a0 As basic as breath itself.
