The Double<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n He follows me around,<\/p>\n hasn\u2019t got a life of his own,<\/p>\n but uses bits of mine instead.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n He picks out moments,<\/p>\n rummaging through the<\/p>\n dustbin of memories.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n He\u2019s expert at identity theft,<\/p>\n living on credit cards he knows<\/p>\n he\u2019ll never have to pay.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n He\u2019s stolen my fingerprints<\/p>\n and now everything he<\/p>\n touches incriminates me.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n He has no backbone but uses mine<\/p>\n to crawl around the house, but he<\/p>\n is still an invertebrate at heart.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I\u2019ll get him in the end, catch him<\/p>\n in the act of impersonation, confront<\/p>\n him and say: Who do you think you are?<\/p>\n <\/p>\n And he\u2019ll say: I thought you were me –<\/p>\n so what does that make you?<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Colin Pink<\/strong> lives in London and writes poems and plays.
