God told my father many<\/p>\n<p>things about me that proved to be lies. God, my nemesis brought the belt<\/p>\n<p>down on me, humbled and bloodied me. My mother was happy to see me,<\/p>\n<p>still tells me I have the biggest blue eyes in the world. Even after the tumor<\/p>\n<p>wiped clean her memory of family vacations in Glacier National Park when<\/p>\n<p>the bears walked through our camp each night, or the hundred events of<\/p>\n<p>being a teenager, she still remembers the day they put me in her arms.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jessica Lindsley<\/strong> grew up in North Dakota before the oil boom.
