My First Real Winter<\/span>
 <\/span>

The rain beat down in double time<\/span>
In comparison to the metronome like drip<\/span>
Of droplets in stainless steel pans<\/span>
Smoke casts shadows over lined paper<\/span>
Ash falls like snow flakes, settling gently<\/span>
Elegies scratched deep into the table surface<\/span>
Remind us of times lesser alone<\/span>
Torn between a warm bed and warmer drinks<\/span>
Regrets get sweeped to the back of the mind<\/span>
There's no time for second guessing<\/span>
Once the deed has been done<\/span>
Let's pray that July holds something brighter<\/span>
In it's bleak atmosphere<\/span>
The dotted lines of city lights remain unchanged<\/span>
A point of view that's missing the point<\/span>
We always miss the point<\/span>
