\nreleased through fine
\nnicotine hands
\ninto dizzying thuds
\nof keys and ribbon,
\nthat leaves a trail of latticework serifs
\nas he drags them all behind him
\ninto the storm\u2019s epicentre
\nnot caring if they cling on
\nor let go as he wrecks their home
\non his feral chase towards the
\nnext sentence, next word.
\nLaughing in the back of the car,
\nthis endless drive towards the present
\nrenders him forever absent,
\nas once again the phoney sound
\nof the faithfully recorded
\ndisgusts him; each failure
\nbanging into the night
\nlike the QWERTY of girls and boys
\nunder his fingertips
\nre-typed again and again
\nuntil they can no longer
\nread themselves
\nunless through his eyes.
\nEach letter, now made sacred
\nbehind glass,
\nbegs us to come closer
\nbut it\u2019s too much \u2013
\nit\u2019s\u00a0 the immense pressure
