\nSo I content myself with ferreting the remains
\nof the laundry basket. So many socks! I have turned
\nthe rogue ones outside out, mud sprinkling, dried
\nfrom when you came in wet, hauled the clinging
\nconcertinas from your feet, leaving them where
\nthey fell. I smooth the washed ones on radiators,
\npinch out the heels blocked in with primary colours,
\nimagine your toes, like chewy gumballs. Then I go
\nand bake, lining my tins, so when you return
\nthere will be sweetness for your mouth.<\/p>\n
