\nyou looked at me
\nas if i had lost my mind and asked me,
\n“you are what?”
\n“happy. it means i am happy.”
\nmostly i ignore braggarts,
\nbut when you insisted your sister spoke
\ngerman the little voice with the horns
\nin my head told me to show you up
\nso i did;
\nit seemed to take you by surprise\u2014
\nyou can always learn,
\nbut you cannot call your words back or the way
\nyou’ve made people feel;
\nalways you make me feel so small and inconsequential
\nmaybe in the grand scheme of things
\ni am,
\nbut no one likes feeling that way\u2014
\nonce you called me a hobbit,
\nbut the old man in line looked up at me and shook
\nhis head insisting i was too tall which made
\nme smile;
\nno one likes to be belittled
\nyou always seem so ready to share everything you know
\nthere is no mystery and intrigue only
\na constant monotony
\nwhich eventually gives me a headache whilst i smile
\npolitely trying not to envision myself
\nhitting you over the head repeatedly with the turbo oven
\nbecause you’re nice and all
\njust socially awkward without the capacity to see
\nwhen one ought to hold their tongue.<\/p>\n
