Pizza Heart<\/span>

Squat ellipsoid of dough.<\/span>
Yeasty, pummelled, elastic.<\/span>
You knuckle into it,<\/span>
it takes the dimpled kneading<\/span>
of your need,<\/span>
you twirl it thin and wide, ridiculous dervish.<\/span>
Into the fire with it.<\/span>
Delicious.<\/span>


Starfish Heart<\/span>

swabs dead cells<\/span>
from the jungle gym of my ribs<\/span>
as it clambers about,<\/span>
fooling doctors and cardiographs.<\/span>
I wonder why it has five limbs?<\/span>
Something to do with Fibonacci<\/span>
and clutching at straws.<\/span>
And starfish don\u2019t even have hearts.<\/span>


Celeriac Heart<\/span>

Sits knobbly in the fridge<\/span>
with my lungs and ribs.<\/span>
I don\u2019t know what to do with it.<\/span>
Peel it, dice it, boil it, mash it,<\/span>
serenade it with razor strings of mandolin?<\/span>
It goes off.<\/span>
It\u2019s binned.<\/span>
Next time <\/span>
I\u2019ll search for recipes online.<\/span>
