Her ribcage<br \/>\na miniature dining table, seating painted people all<br \/>\nsmiling in agreement. How quaint! See how<br \/>\nthe tiny wife holds the tiny lasagne, topped with<br \/>\ntiny golden brown crumbs.<\/p>\n<p>Fragrant lips, topaz eyes, crystalline skull,<br \/>\nblackboard of a brain. She carries<br \/>\na bucket full of chalk, no erasers<\/p>\n<p>and laughs for three point five seconds. Never less,<br \/>\nnever more. One octave, no relish, no<br \/>\ndoubling over and folding at the stomach.<\/p>\n<p>A newspaper advertisement: short-sighted Adam<br \/>\nseeks nescient Eve. A girl shape, made of clay and<br \/>\npoured full of honey, no flavour of pessimism<br \/>\non that cranberry tongue &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>if it gets boring, just pull the strings.<br \/>\nYou can watch her come undone.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Claudia Downs<\/strong> is a 17 year old writer from Lincolnshire who is currently emerging in the poetry world.
