\u201cDo you mind if I stay \u2018til the rain stops?\u201d<\/span>
One woman comes in with her left arm already out of her coat.<\/span>
Two girls sit by the door. They talk about sex, <\/span>
waiting for a break in the clouds. When it comes, <\/span>
one leaves on a BMX, the other on a skateboard.<\/span>
The face of a waitress is reflected in the doorpane. The rain<\/span>
smears it.<\/span>
Schoolgirls drink diet coke, and watch the weather. They complain<\/span>
that smoking outside is a shit when <\/span>
it\u2019s wet. They shuffle <\/span>
phones and lipgloss in punk handbags.<\/span>
Terracotta pitchers with necks like sleeves<\/span>
flaring on hooks above the bar.<\/span>
A Spanish woman with a tattoo appears from the kitchen,<\/span>
ready to make bloody sangria flow. But<\/span>
this is England; we close early in April.<\/span>
