Stick with it.<\/p>\n<p>Work-worn wood, and that stiff little voice<br \/>\nWhispers \u2018this\u2019, \u2018this\u2019, chasing after kitchens.<br \/>\nCareless peelings. Angry plates.<\/p>\n<p>Paint. Repaint. Handling dots and splashes,<br \/>\nSplinter jags, a woman\u2019s work is never, and again,<br \/>\nIt sets the floor to rights.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s art. The flecks are diamond, turquoise, pearls,<br \/>\nA rift in the cheap shaft healed with gold.<br \/>\nStick with it. You might miss it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kirsten Luckins<\/strong> is a poet and performer. Her first solo show, <em>The Moon Cannot Be Stolen<\/em>, was runner-up in the Saboteur Awards 2014 for Best Spoken Word Show. In the same year she was a finalist in the BBC Slam.
