through the halo burnt mirror \u2026<\/span>


autumn leaves crackle<\/span>

brown dust skids off paths<\/span>

    and an assortment of hibiscus<\/span>

    dangles raggedly<\/span>

==<\/span>

the lady in my bedroom<\/span>

puts herself together every morning<\/span>
after a hard night of dismantling herself<\/span>
in the presence of others<\/span>

I study the performance of reconstruction<\/span>

I turn on my fiction       add<\/span>

    magic to my agenda<\/span>

    to the long tall efforts<\/span>

    of ballooning upwards<\/span>


and through the halo burnt mirror       I reach<\/span>

    the scorched-high peaks<\/span>

    of ripening \u2013 where rainbows<\/span>

are part of the hydroponics mix<\/span>

where skies experimental<\/span>

               swap a humpbacked crowdedness<\/span>

==<\/span>

the lady in the bedroom<\/span>

drinks coffee        eats biscuits<\/span>

complains she is still too fat<\/span>

still too restricted by the company she keeps<\/span>

==<\/span>

I open my roof     like a tin lid<\/span>

            for the hot air to get out<\/span>

            the birds to get in<\/span>

a jacaranda shatters the windows<\/span>
and paints the daylight         purple<\/span>


today the intention<\/span>

        is to visit the lake<\/span>

to visit the red house on the corner<\/span>
where I\u2019m the only customer<\/span>

==<\/span>

after the sun has dropped off the tourist map \/ the shelf \/ the clock<\/span>

the lady sniffs out her bedroom<\/span>

        nothing shows <\/span>

        reciprocates<\/span>
    <\/span>
the darkness <\/span>

gropes about<\/span>

for its rightful place in the queue        <\/span>
