Diary of a Product<\/span>


They gave me a name <\/span>
And I felt myself become the name.  <\/span>
Proud of my logo, I <\/span>
Was eager to leave the production line,<\/span>
Impatiently waiting my turn in acquisition. <\/span>
The line workers said not to hurry, <\/span>
That I had time, but I was too <\/span>
Animated.  At the storehouse, they shined <\/span>
My component goods everyday making sure<\/span>
My sticker stayed sticky and my <\/span>
Working parts in order. When my outer surface <\/span>
Was accidentally scuffed from a mishandler,<\/span>
They restored me with an uninvasive apparatus. <\/span>
I did well in the subsequent exhibitions, <\/span>
Comparable with the other merchandise. <\/span>
Still, I felt awkward in my product display <\/span>
And slightly embarrassed of its flashy design.  <\/span>
My shelf-life passed on <\/span>
And I detected in their worried glances <\/span>
That I was not functioning up to expectations. <\/span>
I tried harder to operate according to the manual<\/span>
Issued with me but felt that some of the commands <\/span>
Were unwarranted.  Eventually the supply <\/span>
To demand ratio dwindled and still I had not consummated <\/span>
A transaction. I had become, they explained, a market risk.  <\/span>
In short, I would not be good for their gross margin <\/span>
As my duration of product satisfaction was now negligible.  <\/span>
Servicing and an upgrade if possible was needed.  <\/span>
I was recalled to the production plant. <\/span>
After prodding me with instruments, they detected I had an internal <\/span>
Flaw, the result of a human error.  After <\/span>
Deliberating they decided that repair was not worth <\/span>
Their time as newer models were already being fabricated.  <\/span>
I showed the manufacturer my logo and explained <\/span>
It was my name. <\/span>
He said not to worry about <\/span>
It, that it peeled easily off. <\/span>
