\nlooms the moon in full rotation,
\nhung from spider optic cables \u2013 this
\nseabed opal
\nseen by every human to have lived past sunset<\/p>\n
\nand curse at my spattered keyboard,
\nand then feel guilty (or, slyly, smug)
\nat my casual dealing with God\u2019s eye-views.
\nMy wonder is unlit, so inured am I
\nto seeing inaccessible nooks and crannies<\/p>\n
\nAn unwashed serf at my shoulder
\nwitnessing this witchcraft
\n\u2013 his intake of breath
\nhonks of turnips and beer;
\nhis stories clatter to the floor.<\/p>\n
\nhe is stoic. Shaking his head, remains
\nclosed in his clear green eyes.
\n\u201cSo that\u2019s what it would look like?\u201d
\nIn the unflinching gaze of Science, that hall that encompasses all,
\nyes it is. That
\nis how it is.
\nHe shrugs, returns to potatoes and mirth,<\/p>\n
\nhave I seen the clip of
\nNeptune\u2019s cleft chin, or Brendel chasing a cat?<\/p>\n
\na third time.
\nI remain gazing at
\nthe dark pixel waste.<\/p>\n
