The Rain Watcher<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Hello little sentry<\/p>\n Sitting so still in the porch<\/p>\n Your body round like a chess pawn<\/p>\n Staring straight ahead<\/p>\n At the rain outside<\/p>\n Your little triangle ears<\/p>\n Your tail straight behind you<\/p>\n You look around at me expectantly<\/p>\n And then back at the view<\/p>\n The falling rain<\/p>\n The outside world<\/p>\n That won\u2019t be yours tonight<\/p>\n As long as the rain falls<\/p>\n The rain you don\u2019t like<\/p>\n Yet you seem content to sit patiently<\/p>\n And watch<\/p>\n I know you will guard me<\/p>\n As I stand with you<\/p>\n Smelling the air outside<\/p>\n So beautiful and damp and clear<\/p>\n I love the rain<\/p>\n And you don\u2019t<\/p>\n The fundamental difference between us<\/p>\n But we are still the same<\/p>\n Because we both watch it fall.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Elizabeth Gibson<\/strong>, Fiction Editor at Miracle Magazine,<\/em> has had poetry and prose published widely.
