{"id":6394,"date":"2014-02-28T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-02-28T09:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ink.verticalplus.co.uk\/archive\/?p=6394"},"modified":"2014-01-29T16:50:21","modified_gmt":"2014-01-29T16:50:21","slug":"vivien-jones-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inksweatandtears.co.uk\/archive\/vivien-jones-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Vivien Jones"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fool Moon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The moon, too, yearns<br \/>\nto see beyond clouds,<br \/>\nwe look for silver on prussian<br \/>\nshe looks for blue and green,<br \/>\nboth cursing the intervening<br \/>\nveils and blankets of cloud.<\/p>\n<p>On cloudless nights, out of the sea<br \/>\nshe rises orange, shrinking,<br \/>\npaling to a naval button,<br \/>\nmaking the sea shimmer, glass glitter,<br \/>\na palette of cocktail fabrics<br \/>\ndraped across sightlines.<\/p>\n<p>Hand me down light,<br \/>\nfrom her pale flat face,<br \/>\na blue-veined vanity<br \/>\nproud of the great cheese<br \/>\nthat once fooled a fox,<br \/>\nthe Moon in a bucket.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vivien Jones\u2019 <\/strong>first poetry collection &#8211; <em>About Time, Too &#8211;<\/em> was published by Indigo Dreams Publishing \u00a0in2010. In that year she also won the Poetry London Prize. She has completed a second short fiction collection on a theme of women amongst warriors &#8211; <em>White Poppies (2012) &#8211; <\/em>with the aid of a Creative Scotland Writer\u2019s Bursary and has adapted two of the stories for theatre performance in 2013.
