\nPeople were laughing, it was human nature,
\njust another day.<\/p>\n
\nA dribble at first,
\nliquid toes dancing, teasing.<\/p>\n
\nhis vast seething body was approaching,
\nsilent through the screaming wind.
\nWrenched from the fireside, eyes turned heavenwards
\nbut Night didn’t care.
\nLight was dead as if for ever.
\nWe couldn’t see her blue dress ripped to shreds
\nlike seaweed, guts and broken fish tails,
\nsoft sand gold limbs crushed. Tossed away,
\ndetritus.<\/p>\n
\nlovingly made models of tiny homes.
\nHe brought his gifts and hurled them through windows
\nsmashing goodwill.<\/p>\n
\nShe saw her reflection in the mirrored calm
\nof virginal water and smiled:
\nPeace on Earth.<\/p>\n
\nRosie Brown<\/strong> is a busy artist, writer and grandmother. With a degree in Fine Art, she has since taken UEA courses in Creative Writing and has had poetry and prose published in various anthologies in the UK. Her main inspiration comes from the beautiful North Norfolk coast where she lives and which on this day was ravaged by a huge storm.<\/p>\n
