Appropriately enough after the Winter Olympics, we start with an ice-hockey themed poem…

WE WILL ROCK<\/span>

    puck drops<\/span>
    sticks hack<\/span>

run of blades<\/span>
thud on boards<\/span>

    flick of stick<\/span>
    long pass<\/span>
    icing<\/span>
    and the call<\/span>

   \u201cwe will<\/span>
    we will rock you<\/span>
    stamp stamp clap<\/span>
    stamp stamp\u201d<\/span>

    puck slap<\/span>

cold feet, hard bench<\/span>
peanuts and candy<\/span>

crash of bodies<\/span>
fall and slide<\/span>
crack of stick<\/span>
on puck<\/span>

a lost game<\/span>
a good game<\/span>

THE CUTTING EDGE<\/span>

turn your head until sunlight<\/span>
cuts the edge of sight<\/span>
without burning \u2013<\/span>
easy to gauge<\/span>

not like love<\/span>
where, if you shift too far<\/span>
ice cracks under your feet \u2013<\/span>
too far the other way<\/span>
and powder snow<\/span>
suffocates the self<\/span>

the secret is to find<\/span>
the angle of tilt<\/span>
and hold it<\/span>
balanced on light<\/span>
