\nreach all who defy accident, premature death,
\nthose unsought martyrs we revere in story<\/p>\n
\nnot to make it sound grim, which it is.
\nThe wrought sounds of insects obeying their natures,
\nnot caring for audience approval or needing approbation<\/p>\n
\nthese are the plaudits Yeats and Akhmatova craved,
\nthe nature of this, our world, the real stretch of eyes,
\nhearing, and place, amenable or not \u2013 this, our lives<\/p>\n
