Lost for Words<\/span>

It had to be said that poetry<\/span>
was not his<\/span>
thing,<\/span>

but needs must when Eros calls<\/span>
and this time the God was<\/span>
bellowing.<\/span>

He ordered online<\/span>
and the words were delivered<\/span>
by a man in a van<\/span>
with expansive<\/span>
rear cleavage.<\/span>

Ticking off his clipboard,<\/span>
the man enumerated:<\/span>
\u201cThere\u2019s yer inchoate,<\/span>
yer iridescent,<\/span>
and yer filigree,<\/span>

\u201cThere\u2019s yer longing<\/span>
yer keening,<\/span>
yer yearning<\/span>
and yer deeper meaning.<\/span>
And in this bag \u2019ere,<\/span>

\u201cThere\u2019s yer myriad,<\/span>
many-hued, lambent<\/span>
cerulean shards<\/span>
(watch yer fingers there).\u201d<\/span>

He signed for the words<\/span>
and the delivery man left,<\/span>
then he shouted, \u201cWait!<\/span>
How do I mix it<\/span>
all together?\u201d<\/span>

But the van had gone,<\/span>
its exhaust emitting a<\/span>
plangent yet coruscating<\/span>
threnody.<\/span>
