The unusual hobbies of Tom’s mother<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n She likes to buy cars<\/p>\n And leave them in inconvenient places.<\/p>\n An expensive hobby,<\/p>\n But she likes to watch them from afar<\/p>\n And wait for a slender constable<\/p>\n To post a POLICE AWARE<\/p>\n Note under the windscreen wiper.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n She enjoys it even more<\/p>\n From afar,<\/p>\n When they use the self-adhesive kind<\/p>\n That cling to door panels<\/p>\n And boots<\/p>\n In an attempt to emphasise<\/p>\n The level of ‘awareness’.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n She likes the feeling that awareness gives her.<\/p>\n It makes her feel,<\/p>\n Well,<\/p>\n Aware. From afar.<\/p>\n But what she likes the most<\/p>\n Is the slender constable.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Her plans<\/p>\n And investments are ruined<\/p>\n When a constable arrives<\/p>\n That doesn’t tick all her boxes.<\/p>\n But she hates it most<\/p>\n When people don’t come<\/p>\n Or turn up late.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n She hates it most when no one is even aware<\/p>\n Of her.<\/p>\n When she is alone.<\/p>\n Without cars or tickets<\/p>\n Or slender constables.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n JJ Flames<\/strong> is a poet, writer and musician.
