{"id":4119,"date":"2013-03-05T09:00:47","date_gmt":"2013-03-05T09:00:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ink.verticalplus.co.uk\/archive\/?p=4119"},"modified":"2013-02-27T11:38:24","modified_gmt":"2013-02-27T11:38:24","slug":"kevin-graham","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inksweatandtears.co.uk\/archive\/kevin-graham\/","title":{"rendered":"Kevin Graham"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Washing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Armed with the washing, its damp haul spilling<\/p>\n<p>from my chest, I\u2019d watch my feet<\/p>\n<p>didn\u2019t catch and walk the grass barefoot<\/p>\n<p>to dress the naked line.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There I\u2019d let the load down and pull the sheets<\/p>\n<p>apart in lemon light, flinging their limp halves<\/p>\n<p>until they slung, pegging down whatever<\/p>\n<p>almost slipped.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The breeze blew kisses, lifted my mother\u2019s dress<\/p>\n<p>against the sky, dancing as if alive,<\/p>\n<p>and my father\u2019s shirt-sleeves seemed to wave<\/p>\n<p>as if to catch my attention.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Those were the days <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aspirinworks.com\/lasix-water-pill\/\">buy furosemide online<\/a> when time lifted my face<\/p>\n<p>into the washing, reducing me to a child,<\/p>\n<p>the sun an empty sovereign in the kingdom<\/p>\n<p>of what would happen.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kevin Graham<\/strong> has had poems in P<em>oetry Ireland Review, The Shop, Magma, Orbis, Stand<\/em> and others.
