Lorna of the Crows<\/span>

I was also born<\/span>
in a crow\u2019s nest in a valley<\/span>
at the edge of Friston Forest<\/span>
and on those nights<\/span>
when I\u2019m not at home<\/span>
in my skin I shed it,<\/span>
slick back my black feathers<\/span>
and make for the graveyard<\/span>
where I perch on a headstone \u2013 <\/span>
I like the worn ones best, the ones<\/span>
where the lettering has been eaten<\/span>
away by wind, rain and time \u2013<\/span>
and bathe in the moonlight,<\/span>
tapping my lizard-skin boots<\/span>
and banging my head <\/span>
to the party\u2019s-end smooch<\/span>
of insects, the bone-snapping<\/span>
tangos of the dead.<\/span>
