out of a window under fortywatt yellow<\/span>
    into night that shades the squat concrete<\/span>
but splits to corridors of headlamp and filament<\/span>
    darkening again to block and factory,<\/span>
    merging into the boatroad\u2019s blackness<\/span>
though the far bank glistens.<\/span>
    Then night gives closeness up for distance<\/span>
    while shacks and towers dawdle their coats on.<\/span>
    The fields invisible, you become one<\/span>
in five million, as gasses gather to a sun<\/span>
    out there in the expanding vacuum.<\/span>
