The Kitten and the Brick-layer\u2019s Cap \u2028<\/span>
After Allen Ginsberg\u2019s <\/span><\/font>The Brick-Layer\u2019s Lunch Hour\u2028<\/span><\/font>

It\u2019s a dark rain that threatens \u2028<\/span>
an unlikely new-found womb.\u2028\u2028<\/span>

It\u2019s a dark rain that threatens<\/span>
\u2028and yet the wall beckons, <\/span>
the cellar nature of it luring the kitten.<\/span>

He strokes the kitten\u2028<\/span>
the way he strokes his chin.\u2028\u2028<\/span>

A volley of clouds eclipses the sun, <\/span>
\u2028the tree tops mouthing above him. <\/span>

\u2028\u2028He takes off his red cap, <\/span>
\u2028voiding the cradle of bones curling in his lap. \u2028<\/span>
The body of fur, part-child, part-cat,\u2028\u2028<\/span>

huddles between the bloodied hue <\/span>
of hat \u2028and the fat pulse of cloth and skin, <\/span>

an unlikely new-found womb.<\/span>
