Green geese<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Last night\u00a0\u00a0 I couldn’t sleep<\/p>\n so I painted geese<\/p>\n not just any geese<\/p>\n but green ones\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 flying over me<\/p>\n heading\u00a0\u00a0 for the moon<\/p>\n hanging low\u00a0\u00a0 over Skiddaw<\/p>\n full\u00a0\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0 round\u00a0\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0 silver<\/p>\n a speckled-back mirror.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I could see\u00a0\u00a0 teeth<\/p>\n in the moon\u2019s mouth<\/p>\n whales\u00a0\u00a0 spouting music<\/p>\n dolphins\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 perched<\/p>\n on top\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 gold\u00a0 cupids<\/p>\n they\u00a0\u00a0 fired arrows\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 at me<\/p>\n all night\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the geese\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I painted<\/p>\n flew south\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 for the winter<\/p>\n ate clouds\u00a0\u00a0 and storms<\/p>\n in their beaks\u00a0 were scrolls<\/p>\n <\/p>\n when they were thirsty<\/p>\n they found someone\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 like me<\/p>\n who couldn’t sleep<\/p>\n who painted\u00a0 green geese.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Dr. Geraldine Green<\/strong> has read and been published in the UK, USA, Italy and Greece.
