To break with the past<\/p>\n

Or break it with the past<\/p>\n

The enormous car-packed<\/p>\n

Parking lot flashes like a frozen body<\/p>\n

Of water a paparazzi sea<\/p>\n

After take off<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And because the pigeons laid eggs and could fly<\/p>\n

Because the kittens could survive<\/p>\n

Under the rubble wrapped<\/p>\n

In shirts of the dead<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And the half-empty school benches<\/p>\n

Where each boy sits next<\/p>\n

To his absence and holds him<\/p>\n

In the space between two palms<\/p>\n

Pressed to a face<\/p>\n

This world this hospice<\/p>\n
