{"id":3401,"date":"2012-10-25T12:00:52","date_gmt":"2012-10-25T12:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ink.verticalplus.co.uk\/archive\/?p=3401"},"modified":"2012-10-22T13:39:52","modified_gmt":"2012-10-22T13:39:52","slug":"3401","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inksweatandtears.co.uk\/archive\/3401\/","title":{"rendered":"Fiona Donaghey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Going Home<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The house has grown small and fragile.<\/p>\n<p>The ghosts at the top of the stairs<\/p>\n<p>are now cupboards<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>holding dolls that are strange<\/p>\n<p>and worn and familiar,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>they suffocate the \u00a0excitement of childhood.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Somewhere inside I am bitter<\/p>\n<p>that life is drifting<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>my heart is fretful<\/p>\n<p>and the ticking of time<\/p>\n<p>cheats me as the clock doubles up<br \/>\non its tick-tock<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fiona Donaghey<\/strong> was born in Dublin and moved to Norwich twelve years ago.\u00a0 She is a mature Student\u00a0 studying for a BA Hons Degree in English with Cultural Studies at City College Norwich. She has been writing poetry for seven years .
