Voila: the view<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">through a compartmentalized heart.<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">\u00a0<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">Now a square and lines<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">at the other top corner of the window. Have<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">you enough lines, or too many? Is a vertical line<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">needed to bisect the window, or a horizontal<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">bisector, aesthetically or structurally? Too large a pane<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">and the glass will need a pattern of cloudy<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">translucent dots or squares as such. None here.<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">Older. It might be a laboratory or front room behind<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">in the compartmentalized heart.<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">\u00a0<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">Do this to recreate<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">the city that&#8217;s been destroyed. Begin<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">with the window, enough that a diary of<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">details from it make sense to descendants.<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">Some windows divide down in 6 parallel strips:<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">equal width. These bisect half way down on 3 <\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">strips &#8211; with a square half way down as if bisected<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">by total bisection, at the centre of the strip in the<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">other 3 strips. Thus, a distributed 50% of this window<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">does not bisect, horizontally. An<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">imaginary dotted line carried through the bisection <\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">(where it visibly, materially bisects alternate<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">strips) centres the squares<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">in the unbisected strips. There is hope<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">of a whole new small heart in the heart here.<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">\u00a0<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">The unbisected strips do not<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">evenly divide vertically into three. It is more like<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">rectangle&#8230; narrow end on the horizontal, long end on<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">the vertical&#8230; then a square, then a rectangle like<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">the first rectangle. The future of a heart.<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">\u00a0<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">It might be a stairwell<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">or swimming pool behind. There are blue tac<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">blobs on some of the bricks on a wall. There&#8217;s no<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">poster. There is a rare wall where the<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">mortar lines of bricks form a grid <\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">not imaginary bisections followed through<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">each brick on the line below: neat grid<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">lines. One needs an exterior &#8211; ever again\u00a0 <\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">to have an uncompartmentalized heart.<\/span><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><br style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\" \/><span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">*I<a href=\"http:\/\/www.iralightman.com\/Welcome.html\">ra Lightman<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Courier New,Courier,mono;\">makes public art in the North East, and lately Willenhall and Southampton.
