OSCILLATING<\/span>

I see myself<\/span>
in the elongated mirror playing<\/span>
tic-tac-toe with red lipstick,<\/span>
Xs and Os over my skin<\/span>
slick with summer heat,<\/span>

oscillating fan sweeping my mood<\/span>
back and forth my weight on each bare foot,<\/span>
skinny as I want,<\/span>
wanting to run naked down the hallway<\/span>
into the street where cell phones wait<\/span>
to take my picture and broadcast it singing<\/span>

loud<\/span>
I'm seriously ready<\/span>
for someone to massage me with a cover of smoke.<\/span>

Down<\/span>
the street<\/span>
distant<\/span>
someone<\/span>
playing<\/span>
the piano<\/span>
sweet<\/span>
and sad<\/span>
for<\/span>
the city<\/span>
dying<\/span>
slow<\/span>
within itself.<\/span>
